Pens win in preseason opener

I think it's clear Evgeni Malkin has not missed a beat. Geno tallies a goal, an assist and was +2 in a 3-2 victory over the Red Wings on preseason opening night.

Also scoring for the Pens were Chris Kunitz and Matt Niskanen (yes really Matt Niskanen) AND on the power play too.

Letang was the horse of the game with 25:28 TOI. James Neal and Niskanen (yes the same) each led the team with four shots on net.

A couple of nobodies scored for Detroit... Dan Cleary is a bum for providing a boarding call worthy of a five minute major. That's all for them.
