First off, Congratulations to Brooks Orpik on making the US Olympic Team! I hope Vancouver is ready for some FREE CANDY!
The Pens travel down to Tampa Bay to take on the 11th ranked Lightning. This is the 2nd meeting between the teams, the first being on October 17th where the Pens won 4-1 at the Mellon Arena. The Pens are looking to start off the New Year on a winning note, considering the end of 2009 wasn’t too kind to them concluding on a 3 game losing streak. In their last 10 games, the Pens are 6-4-0 and the Lightning are 4-4-2.

“When you end up with 26 wins you do a lot of good things,” head coach Dan Bylsma said. “A lot of that is work ethic and the character of our guys and wanting to be a better team and knowing we have to get better. From that standpoint we have finished 41 games establishing that.”
