Today the Pittsburgh Penguins hired Tony Granato as an assistant coach; Tony brings 13 seasons as a NHL player and 6 years coaching experience to the table. Granato has experience in big time games as well as coaching past NHL superstars Joe Sakic, Petr Forsberg and Patrick Roy.
"To be able to jump to an organization like tthis that's on the top, I feel very lucky. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to help in any way I can. I'll do my part to help keep that going." - Tony Granato
The Penguins will have to adjust the power play this season in order to continue the excellence of last season's Stanley Cup Championship. In Tony's 13 seasons he scored 57 career power play goals.
"I'm just thankful and really looking forward to being a part of the staff; getting my family moved and being part of the community there." Tony said. "With what Pittsburgh's done for so many years, the tradition, the history, to be able to join an organization like that is extremely exciting for me."
